Toxicity: Low at traditional doses; timosaponin AIII shows dose-dependent cytotoxicity in vitro (relevant to concentrated extracts).
Contraindications: Spleen-deficiency diarrhea / cold patterns (TCM).
Interactions: Additive with hypoglycemics (theoretical).
Evidence level
Supported by laboratory or animal studies; not yet confirmed in humans.
